All across the country, this summer and fall, your local League of Women Voters will be conducting Candidate Forums. These are invaluable ways to get involved with ensuring informed citizens go to the polls this November. The League is always looking for more volunteers to help with these forums.

MAY 20 - Nathan Stock, from CRC Connect, is an expert in building alliances across political divides.
JUNE 17 - Dr. Karen Branden, Sociology Professor from Minnesota State University - Moorhead - has done extensive research in how implicit bias impacts our decisions. Join us as she discusses how implicit bias impacts our elections and our political parties.
JULY 15 - AMERICA at 250 - A panel of BadAss Grandma Experts will discuss America at 250. We'll take a look back as well as forward. Should be a fascinating discussion!
AUGUST 19 - AMERICAN PROMISE is an organization with a single purpose - getting BIG MONEY out of politics. Our speaker will be American Promise's Coalitions Director, Aliya Bhatia.

Last summer, the BadAss Founding Four did an incredible presentation on our history at the Moorhead Public Library to a packed house. Everyone was filled with both inspiration and laughter, listening to the stories, espcially from Dina Butcher, who had us in stitches.

How BG4D Began
Our beginnings were with the desire to ensure integrity in North Dakota government. Thanks to the founding BG4Ds, Measure #1 was passed a created an Ethics Commission in ND - proof that one person can make a difference as it started with Dina Butcher, then Ellen Chaffee and the rest is history (and you can google all about those days -
we got a bit famous).
